Alan Blaylock is a devoted community leader who has made significant contributions to his hometown, Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout his tenure as a council member, he has achieved noteworthy victories that have positively impacted both families and businesses in the area. Alan's unwavering commitment to public service is evident in his hands-on approach to addressing constituent concerns and advocating for the well-being of those he serves.

A strong advocate for public safety, Alan has taken decisive actions to strengthen the Police and Fire departments. By voting to fund new positions and provide essential training, he has played a key role in enhancing community safety. Under his leadership, the reduction of unfilled public safety positions has significantly contributed to creating a safer environment, a fact recognized and endorsed by both the Fort Worth Police Officers Association and the Fort Worth Professional Firefighters Association.

Recognizing the burden of property taxes on Fort Worth taxpayers, Alan emerged as a leading proponent of responsible fiscal policies. His support for the "no new revenue rate" has been crucial in preventing tax increases with appraisal values. Alan's dedication to preserving and improving neighborhoods and infrastructure is evident in his efforts to revise Transportation Impact Fees, facilitate the establishment of the first H-E-B Grocery in Fort Worth, and pass the Short-Term Rental Ordinance to safeguard residential areas. Actively involved in zoning, Alan diligently strives to balance development projects with neighborhood interests.

Addressing critical issues such as homelessness and city management, Alan secured substantial funding to enhance the city's capabilities in addressing homelessness challenges. His efforts, including measures like "no panhandling" signs, the Shopping Cart Ordinance, and the purchase of street sweepers, reflect his commitment to maintaining a clean and safe city.

Before his role as a council member, Alan served as Senior Product Manager at Nokia, with a background in Lead Software Developer and Project Manager positions at Owen Oil Tools.

As a family man deeply connected to Fort Worth, Alan's love for the city shines through his actions and decisions as a council member. Prioritizing tangible results over political grandstanding, his business insight allows him to cut wasteful spending and identify efficiencies, ensuring taxpayer money is utilized effectively without compromising essential city services. Alan is committed to improving the quality of life for his constituents, focusing on infrastructure and roads, public safety, and lowering taxes.

Alongside his wife, Mindy, Alan is a proud parent of two daughters and an active supporter of The Children's Miracle Network and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Alan's extensive community service record includes roles on various boards and committees, such as the Heritage Homeowners Association Board, Crime Control and Prevention District Advisory Committee, Public Improvement District Advisory Committee, Arts Council of Fort Worth Advisory Committee, and Eagle Ridge Elementary Parent Teacher Board (PTA). Currently, he holds vital positions on several committees and boards within the City of Fort Worth, showcasing his commitment to the city's progress and residents' well-being.

In addition, Alan actively participates in Tax Increment Financing Districts (TIFs) and leads Public Improvement Districts (PIDs), holding positions such as Chair for TIF 2 (The Speedway), Vice Chair for TIF 10 (Lonestar), and serving as an ex officio member (Advisory Board President) for PID 7 (Heritage), overseeing and supporting its functions for the benefit of the community.

As a fiscally responsible and community-oriented leader, Councilmember Blaylock leads oversight responsibilities for financial matters, ensuring Fort Worth's continuous improvement and the well-being of its residents.
